We spent a lot of time in Barcelona in the gothic quarter, a lot of filling between different cultural buildings. In one such gap, we walk past Be Chocolat and I think, unspoken, we both know that I will want to return.
The Moco Museum suitably toured, we return for what is quite an array of available options. I decide, still quite full from lunch, that I’m not going for the churros, and it’s started getting warm, so one of their iced drinks is probably the one.
The speciic one is a caramel chocolate iced drink, freshly prepared, and confusingly topped with dark chocolate flakes - these aren’t particularly pick-up-able with a straw, but I apply what ingenuity I have to the situation and triumph (I pick them out by hand).
It’s good enough that I am immediately taken with the idea of buying one of their bags of hot chocolate drops of the self same 31% caramel chocolate.
Alasdair finds a vegan option! That’s not even why we went in! What a find. His was a mint dark chocolate, served hot (because he realised only too late that iced might have been an option for his too), and having had a sip, oh boy was that thick and rich. Now we’re talking. Where was that with my churros the other day?
