Parisian Michelin star number two. Today, Pantagruel. A smaller scale meal than Automne, but not by much. Mostly by picking the soft drink pairing over the wine - it is lunch, and I do have a flight to catch. I do, though, add in the chef’s selection again, try to stop me! We start, though, with a trio of snacks all built out of egg, rice, and leek. These include sushi and popped rice. They’re all a delight. I add in the lobster sandwich, almost the consistency of prawn toast, but with savoury French toast (or, as they call it, “toast”). The main is, of course, the duck, served in multiple ways - primarily a gorgeous filet thereof, wrapped in kale and toasted rice, but also as duck hearts with bulgur wheat and fig, and a consomé. Dessert continues the theme of variation, including a citrus-filled single bite donut that almost (but, of course, not quite) rivals Other. A petit fours is served atop a blue non-alcoholic digestif that absolutely hits the spot. I am broadly left alone to read my Kindle, and I have a wonderful time. Yes please.
