I spend so much time looking at things to do in London that I rarely stop to consider what’s going on under my very nose. So when Bristol Museum is having an exhibition on gender and expression, it seems worth the trip up Park Street of a Sunday. It is somewhat limited by only really being able to work within the confines of the museum’s existing collection, so by the end of it, it’s more just a queer exhibition than laser-focused on gender, which is not a bad thing but isn’t quite what I was hoping for. Very interesting to see how they dealt with a couple of more “gender-critical” exhibits - important not to pretend it’s all unicorns and rainbows out there, but understandable sensitivity required.
