Atrium Cafe

Bristol, 2024-02-22

  1. Shal asks if I have plans for lunch in the office today. I am playing squash with Zac, but why would I let a thing like that stop me from enjoying lunch afterwards? I soundly beat Zac a few times and make my way over to the Atrium.

  2. The Atrium is one of the many eateries on the UWE campus, and arguably the best one, but the “shortest dwarf” line tends to apply here.

  3. For the last year and a half or so, this has been my weekly Tuesday lunch location, but I’ve started doing yoga in the office on Tuesdays, so no more. It’s not a great loss.

  4. Usually it looks like either a salad, or soup and some onion rings. Today, though, I go simply for a waffle with maple syrup and bacon. It’s, I mean, it’s fine, but it’s a quite pitiful serving size. Shal offers me a bit of her sandwich. I respectfully decline, but the gesture is noted and appreciated.

  5. The conversation is much more stimulating, though, getting to do management bitching with no prying ears around. I learn much and share much and that makes it a good lunch indeed.
