Ali Smith remains my favourite author (inasmuch, of course, as it’s a worthwhile endeavour having favourites) and Glyph is another tour de force. Lyrical and playful with its writing but heartfelt and earnest in its reflection of the world around us at the moment. The lives of two sisters and how they diverge and converge over time, how stories can become all too real but oh so necessary, and how we hold onto each other through them.
